Arman Mahmud

Research Assistant

Arman Mahmud is a Data Scientist, Statistician, and currently working as a Research Assistant at the ARCED Foundation. He holds an MSc in Applied Statistics & Data Science and a BSc in Applied Statistics from the Institute of Applied Statistics & Data Science (IASDS), University of Dhaka. His research focuses on bridging data theory with field application, notably developing advanced RNN and VAR weather forecasting frameworks for Rohingya camps, as well as investigating the determinants of inadequate supervision for children under five in Bangladesh. His research potential is recognized by the prestigious NST Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Driven by a passion for emerging technologies, Arman specializes in Agentic AI development, data automation, and managing modern infrastructure like Docker, Git, and Google Cloud Platform. He is proficient across a robust analytics stack (Python, R, STATA, SQL, and Power BI) and achieved a Top 20 ranking in the AI Case Challenge by HelloPM. His technical depth is balanced by extensive field experience in survey methodology, questionnaire programming (SurveyCTO/ODK), and team coordination.

An active leader and communicator, Arman has served as an executive for the ISRT Students Club, Shahidullah Hall Language Club, and Debating Club and frequently volunteers at DU research fairs. His public speaking skills earned him the title of Intra-Hall Public Speaking Champion, alongside multiple accolades in debate and sports. This unique blend of analytical expertise, cutting-edge AI proficiency, and leadership empowers him to drive impactful, data-driven solutions.
